CROCK POTS The simplest, most basic way to prepare a meal is with a crock pot. You can create a whole meal in your crock pot and let it cook all day. When dinner time arrives, voila, just take the top off the crock pot and serve. You can include your meat and vegetables in your crock pot, and even have gravy too. Your crock pot saves you time and cleaning. The first crock pot was introduced in the early 1970’s. Today, two models of the crock pot exist on the market, multi-cookers and the original slow cooker. Multi-cookers can be used to deep-fry, steam and slow-cook. The crock pot is an excellent insulator and keeps the cooking temperature even, so it doesn’t require constant attention. Slow cooking crock pots , which range in size from eight ounces to six quarts, have a crockery insert that may or may not be removable. The insert of the crock pot rests in a metal housing unit which heats from the sides. The crock pot slow cooking is ideal for tenderizing meat, so the cheap cuts of meat work very well. A long cooking time in the crock pot, low heat and sealed environment allows all the flavors time to mingle and develop. One pot cooking reduces dishwashing too. Use your crock pot when hosting a party to free up more space on the stove. Due to the low heat coming from the sides of the crock pot, there is little chance of burning dinner even if you are several hours late. If you are new to crock pot cooking, you’re in for a real treat! There are hundreds of books devoted entirely to crock pot, or slow-cooker, cookery. It’s very easy to find lots of crock pot recipes. I would suggest a crock pot with a removable crock and a see-thru lid so you can see how things are progressing without lifting the lid and losing heat. Just read the crock pot directions carefully. Order now and get cooking in your new crock pot.
